This work examines the unraveling of human relationships in modern society and the physical and mental labor of 'care' that bridges these gaps. The process begins with drawings that capture the emotions and bodily movements inherent in everyday moments of care. These sketches are then brought to life as handmade, sewn dolls. By connecting and interweaving these individual pieces together, the final artwork is formed. The tightly interwoven dolls visualize the structural support and solidarity generated by the labor of care, serving as a metaphor for the sustaining power of human connection within a fragmented society.
Where it's been: This work has been exhibited at VX Florence Biennale and several exhibitions in Toronto.
